According to a recent interview, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is supposedly making yet another video game movie, but he hasn't revealed which game it will be based on yet.
After having starred in both Doom and Rampage as well as the most recent Jumanji films, which swapped the board game for a video game, Johnson is no stranger to video game movies. His star power, however, makes it hard to predict what he'll be up to next other than that it will undoubtedly be spectacular. When asked about his plans for future big-screen adaptations of video game characters, Johnson explained to Men's Journal: "We're talking to a lot of people. I'm very interested in it."
"We're going to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen--one that I've played for years. I'm really excited to bring it to fans around the world. Of course we're going to do right by our gamer friends--but really we're just going to make a great movie."
When pressed for more details about the upcoming project, possibly even the name of the game that he's taking on, Johnson responded: "We're not ready to announce it yet. But I'm very excited about it."
Perhaps Sony has secured his previous announcement regarding an adaptation of Uncharted . It would make sense since there are already plans to turn
In a recent interview, the actor said that there are no limitations to what he can accomplish. "There's nothing I can't do," Johnson added in his words. Although it could be possible that anything is possible, Johnson has already lent his voice and appearance to Fortnite's The Foundation.
Perhaps a lot of the drama may be traced back to something else: a cast for the long-in-development Gears of War movie that may include Johnson. First announced in 2007, the movie has been stuck in development hell for years. With no real updates since 2015, it's possible that the project is actually dead.
According to Johnson himself, however, this is not true and he promises that we'll be hearing more about the Gears of War: "I think we're closer than ever," Johnson said.
Whatever the case may be, it appears as though we won't have long to wait for something to happen. As far as Johnson is concerned, he's been very occupied. DC's Black Adam will premiere on July 29th, followed by a set of Red Notice sequels from Netflix.
